PITCH-A-TRAILMATE

A lighthearted dating event for outdoor lovers.

10 people will be chosen to give A cheeky 3-minute PowerPoint presentation on why their single friend is the most eligible adventure partner in Seattle. 

Thursday, February 13 @ 6:30pm // Stoup Brewing Capitol Hill

FREE TO ATTEND - Seating is FCFS for 200 people

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • 10 people will be selected in advance to pitch their trailmate

  • Presentations will be a 3-minute PowerPoint

  • 2-minutes of Q&A from the audience

  • Audience members can leave their information for people they're interested in

  • Afterparty of mingling and laughing

All presenters and presentees will get a free beer at the event for a little liquid courage.

For being such a a good sport, every presentee will receive a "Seattle Cutie Date Package": two passes to Vertical World, and a gift card to Many Bennies Ice Cream.

EVENING TIMELINE:

  • 6:30pm seating is open for first-come-first-served

  • 7:00pm presentations began

  • 8:30pm afterparty

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PITCH

  1. Fill out our form with your and your friend’s information

  2. Send us a PDF copy of your presentation by EOD Sunday, February 9th

  3. 10 presentations will be chosen and contacted on Monday, February 10th

HOW TO DESIGN A GREAT PITCH

Tell us why your friend would make outdoorsy folks swoon! “Outdoorsy” can look like a lot of things, so be encouraged to play with the theme however you like.

  • 3-5 slides. Don’t go overboard. When in doubt, lots of pictures.

  • Tell a story. Short anecdotes give us much more flavor than a list of attributes.

  • Be specific. Look, Seattle has lots of nice people who like hiking and breweries. We get it. So why does your friend stand out? What are their niche interests? What’s their brand of weird?

  • Don’t be afraid to poke fun. Nobody’s perfect. A little teasing adds humor.

  • TIME YOURSELF PRACTICE. 3 minutes will go by quicker than you think!
