Built on Road Trips and Good Ideas

Wonderland Gear Exchange began the way a lot of memorable adventures do: on a long, snowy drive from Seattle to Stanley, Idaho. Somewhere between mountain passes and gas-station coffee, an idea took shape. That trip turned into kitchen-table planning sessions, conversations with kindred shops around the country, and the humbling realization that ideas are easy—building something worthwhile takes work.

We started Wonderland because we believe great gear shouldn’t retire early. Reusing quality outdoor equipment keeps good stuff in circulation, lowers waste, and makes getting outside more affordable for more people. We also believe adventure is better when shared—on trails, skin tracks, camp chairs, and neighborhood sidewalks. Our goal is to build the kind of used gear shop Seattle deserves: welcoming, useful, community-minded, and always ready for whatever comes next.

Keep gear in the wild, and out of the landfill

#1

We believe outdoor gear should be used until it’s threadbare or at least 50% duct tape. But, sometimes you need something different; and, every now and then, you need something new. If you have gear you aren't using, don't let it sit in your closet: consign it. Then, put your consignment earnings towards your next trip or (hopefully used) gear purchase.

Make adventures cheaper & easier

We're lucky to be joining an already-incredible outdoor community in the PNW, but there's room for growth. We want Wonderland Gear Exchange to be a place where you and others who enjoy spending time outside will find what you need, learn new skills, and connect about your happy places in the wild.

Broaden the outdoor community

#3

Outdoor gear is expensive, particularly for newcomers to an activity who might not know where to start or what to buy. We want to reduce the financial barrier to entry by offering quality used gear and expert advice for both first-timers and long-timers alike.
